Single player mode is useful for improving your level of strategy and each stage is a bit more difficult than the one that preceded it. I found the linear map to be a helpful tool, as it offers the guidance needed to ensure a more immersive experience.

Best of all, you do not have to commit to any attacks. Simply pay a small amount of gold to take a closer look at a prospective base and if you are enamored with what you are saying, you can spend additional gold to launch an attack. While the quality of opponents can vary greatly, this is all part of the fun.
